How to Generate a Random Pokémon Team
- 1.Set your filters — click Filters and choose your generation, type, and whether to include legendaries.
- 2.Set team size — use the − and + buttons next to Team to choose how many Pokémon to generate (1–6).
- 3.Click Team — your random team appears instantly in the Your Team section below.
- 4.Export to Showdown — click Copy Showdown, then paste into Pokémon Showdown's Import/Export teambuilder.

Can I generate random Pokémon by generation?
Yes. Open Filters and select one or more generations. For example, select Gen 1 to generate only Kanto Pokémon, or Gen 1 + Gen 3 for a mixed Kanto/Hoenn pool. The pool count updates instantly.
Can I generate a random Pokémon by type?
Yes. Open Filters and select one or more types. Dual-type Pokémon are included if they match any of your selected types. This is useful for building random mono-type teams.
How do I generate a random team for Pokémon Showdown?
Use the Team button (adjust the count with − and +) to generate a full random team. Then click Copy Showdown at the bottom of your team. Open Pokémon Showdown → Teambuilder → Import/Export, paste, and save.
Does the generator include all 1,025 Pokémon?
Yes. The full pool includes all Pokémon from Gen 1 (Kanto) through Gen 9 (Paldea) — 1,025 Pokémon in total. You can filter down to any subset using the generation and type filters.
Can I exclude legendary Pokémon from the generator?
Yes. Open Filters and uncheck Legendaries or Mythicals to remove them from the pool. This is useful for standard competitive formats that ban legendary Pokémon.
